About S4C
S4C is a Welsh-language broadcaster. S4C broadcasts a variety of programmes such as sports, drama, music, factual, news, entertainment and events, across a range of platforms, including its websites, mobile applications and YouTube.
The challenge.
S4C is an organisation with a large and varied digital estate comprising a range of websites, web applications and mobile applications.
Measuring performance across the estate, however, was a challenge due to the lack of a measurement framework and enhanced tracking capabilities.
S4C needed to find an analytics partner to help develop a clear measurement strategy to be adopted across all digital platforms, as well as a technical partner to implement the solution.
The solution
Working with S4C’s data, development and marketing teams, I held a series of stakeholder workshops to understand the organisation’s digital strategy and goals.
Following an initial period of discovery, I got to work devising a measurement framework to provide a unified way of tracking user behaviour and interactions across the digital estate. I then worked with S4C’s development team to ensure this was deployed using Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4.
The results
S4C are now in a strong position to evaluate the performance of their websites, apps and digital campaigns in relation to their organisational goals.
Following a series of training sessions with teams across marketing, social media and development, S4C are now well placed to make the most of their Google Analytics 4 implementation to drive data-informed decisions..
